Specialist in top-of-the-range denim fabrics
Candiani is ahead of its time with innovative technical fabrics that help protect the environment:
- Coreva fabric: the only biosourced and compostable stretch denim fabric on the market;
- LA premium denim with regenerative fabric: a stretch fabric that since the late 1980s has made the Italian mill famous the world over. It helps to improve soil health, restore natural ecosystems and safeguard biodiversity;
- PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) fabric: a fabric made from recycled end-of-life denim. They are mixed with a special cotton fibre, 'Blue Seed', which reinforces the fibres of the used jeans to create new, more durable denim jeans. The project is the result of a partnership between the Humana People to People Italia association, which collects used clothing from collection points throughout Italy, and Filatura Astro, a company specialising in recycling clothing. Traceability from the collection point to the product greatly reduces the carbon footprint.
- Lightweight denim made from certified regenerative cotton;
- Relast fabric: synthetic stretch denim with a reduced environmental footprint. Made from 100% organic cotton and a recycled elastomer using Kitotex technology.
Innovative initiatives for protecting the environment
In addition to the above innovations, Candiani uses two patented processes to design their denim fabrics:
- Kitotex: a natural polymer produced from food waste that is applied thread by thread after dyeing, reducing water consumption and avoiding water pollution;
- Indigo Juice: a pigment applied to the surface of the yarn for careful, safe washing. It saves 75% water and 65% chemicals.
